Johnson Communications Service, Inc. was founded as a small, family business in 1959 as an authorized Motorola service center for the installation and repair of Motorola two-way radio equipment in the Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois areas. In 1970, as J & S Communications, the company served as the first paging, interconnect, marine radio, and telephone answering service business in Southeast Missouri.
